Lazenby
Yoga Teacher Training provides you with in-depth Asana training and
teaching methods. You will learn first hand in real yoga
classes. We offer you insights into the art of yoga teaching
as developed by Murray & Gillian Lazenby during a combined 26
years of intensive teaching experience.
You will
gain the understanding, strength and competence required for
demonstrating and presenting Level 1&2 postures. You will
learn how to teach new beginners, what to teach, and how to modify
for students of differing experience.
The
Training is highly personalised in the apprenticeship style with an
emphasis on the practical. Opportunities for hands on
experience and personal feedback are featured.
COURSE
SUMMARY:
- Know
instructional points for teaching Beginners and Level 1 &
2.
- Demonstrate
Beginner and Level 1 & 2 asanas effectively.
- Provide
correct adjustments for students during class.
- Comprehensive
knowledge of the Asana repetoire. Structure a 10 week
Yoga course.
- Use
props effectively and appropriately with skill.
- Modify
fundamental asanas for injuries and medical conditions
- Have a
working knowledge of anatomy and physiology for Yoga.
- Develop
an understanding of common ailments and how Yoga can be
beneficial.
- Modify
classes for pregnancy.
- Be
familiar with the foundation Iyengar yoga texts.
- Have a
background of Iyengar yoga philosophy and history

THE
TRAINING IS SUITABLE FOR YOU IF:
You have
minimum 2-3 years experience of intermediate level Yoga or
more.
You have
been practising yoga based on a foundation of standing poses,
salutes and inverteds, with back bends, twists, forward bends,
restoratives and pranayama, using yoga props.
You
pratice a regular shoulderstand with blankets and belt, and
variations. You are familiar with headstand.
Having
considered the timetables (see brochures page)
you are able to regularly attend at least 2-3 weekly yoga sessions
with Murray (in Eltham) or Gillian (in Eltham, Diamond Creek or
Fitzroy) during school terms.
You are
interested in how other people benefit from Yoga and their physical
wellbeing and development through Yoga.
Your
interest in Yoga teaching is practical, rather than an interest
in extended
study.
